New Website

Just when I thought I was out

Yeah, a proper website was going to have to happen at some point. Platformalist used to point at my game review blog, then it was offline for a few years, then it pointed at my New Year’s Resolution of a blog that didn’t really keep up the steam that I’d hoped.

But I’m back in! Platformalist is now going to be the hub of all the things I work on, so I can much more easily archive and keep track of the stuff I work on and care about. Easy to write a quick blog in Markdown if I want, easy to throw a link to a project up. I’ve needed a place like this on the internet for a long time and I’m glad that it’s finally here.

It’s very bright and cheery

I’m super into old GIFs right now (hence my latest project, Frog Garden) and honestly I just want to enjoy my life, so my website is full of ’em too. One of my favourite things to do right now is find an old GIF that’s barely hanging on in an archive somewhere, load it into Aseprite, simplify the color palette, and use it as an emoji in Slack. It’s a simple personal practice, but it makes me very happy, and it reminds me of a time when the internet wasn’t so pristine and consistent. So I want my website to reflect that. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but I want it to be a cozy home for all my projects.

What’s next?

Continued work on Frog Garden, I suppose. I’ve been working on a lot of music this year, and totally fell off the comic project, but I do hope to get that done before the end of the year. This website was my next step and honestly it’s basically where I want it right now. So I’ll forge on and continue logging projects on here as they come up.
